De firma Foc-US-tyDCS bekent zelf dat ze een gaatje in de Amerikaanse regelgeving uitbuiten. Een gaatje dat hier in Nederland en België nog groter zal zijn omdat we hier voor dit soort apparaten geen keuring van de daadwerkelijke effecten op ons lijfelijk functioneren kennen.

Per saldo wordt dus een manier van hersenbeïnvloeding, die in onderzoek is om mensen met hersenproblemen te behandelen langs de daarvoor geldende veiligheidsregels heen, op de markt gebracht om je misschien wat sneller te kunnen laten zijn met een spelletje.

Andere TDCS-apparaten, wel voor genezing of behandeling bedoeld, mogen alleen maar worden geleverd aan onderzoeksinstituten en voor behandeling onder professionele begeleiding.
